What Information Do We Collect?

This section sets out the categories and details of the personal information we collect on our Products and Services.

We collect and process your personal information to provide the Network and to provide you with our Products and Services.

If you refuse to provide us with your personal information when we ask you, you may not be able to access all or some of our services and use the Network or certain Products and Services. For example, if you do not provide us with your email address or other information required for account registration, we will not be able to register you with certain account services.

Information We Collect

Identity Data

We collect information such as your username, password, email address, IP address (collected when you sign up). This information is also used to identify individual users on the Internet and to reward and attribute events to you. Your username and additional content you provide, including your profile picture, Q&A content, and reputation, are publicly visible. We or our community moderators may delete a question, answer, comment, or all, and after deletion such information is only available to certain community members or WiseQing employees.

Contact Data  : including delivery address, email address and telephone numbers for operational purposes, including the provision of Services and Products.

Technical Data  : how you access our website, including internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, traffic data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform that informs us, and other contact data about. Other account and usage information, including your IP address and browser data, may be used for diagnostics, security, and Product and Service optimization.

Account registration information

When you sign up for a WiseQing account, we collect your name and email address, username and any additional information you provide. We will generate a unique identification number that we will use to identify you when you log in. We need to collect your personal information for account registration purposes. Although the Network provides anonymous and pseudonymous participation, in some cases we require account registration to use certain Products or Services. This requires additional information such as a name associated with your account, an email address where we can contact you, and in some cases, a contact address, billing address and a password to help keep your personal information secure.

Invoice information

Since WiseQing does not offer any payment-based products, your billing information is not collected.

Profile info

When filling out a public "profile", whether for use with the Network or our Products and Services, we may ask you to share certain personally identifiable information in required and optional profile fields. The name and reputation scores associated with your account, which you can review and change in your account settings, are publicly displayed and linked to your activity through Products and Services on the WiseQing Network. Moderators with elevated access privileges can access non-public user profile data, content in posts, and other public data. For more information about moderators and their roles in the WiseQing Network, please visit our help center  .

Other profile information may also be publicly viewable if you choose to complete certain optional components of the Account Registration options; Some information is publicly displayed and required, for example, your Developer Story, display image, affiliate role and company, location and technologies you prefer (javascript, fast, sql) -server, etc.) and how long you have been a member for.

Similarly, you can choose to share additional non-essential information, but it will be displayed publicly if you choose to share it.

Information we use to identify and verify you

We need this information so that we can recognize you, for example, when you access your accounts. It also helps us protect and keep your information safe. We may also use this information to detect and prevent fraud.

analytical information

WiseQing uses data analytics to provide site functionality and optimize our Product and Service offerings for you. We use web browser and mobile analytics to allow us to understand the functionality of the Network and Apps. In doing so, we record information such as how often you visit the Network, how often you contribute content, Network and Application performance data, errors and debugging information, and the type of activity you perform while on or on the Network. Your use of our Products and Services. We may share this information from time to time with third parties that we have contracted for products and services to assist Stack.

Information from developer surveys, questionnaires, research and feedback programs

We collect information through surveys, reviews and feedback programs to help improve our products and give us ideas. We may conduct similar research for advertisers and our marketing partners. We ask for your consent to use this information when you participate in these programs and events.

Marketing and sales information

We collect details of the services you receive and your preferences; information about your device or the software you use, such as the device's IP address, specifications and uniquely identifying data; Cookies and similar technologies we use to recognize you, remember your preferences and tailor the content we provide to you -  our cookie policy  contains more details about how we use cookies.

Device and browser information is automatically retrieved

When you visit the network or use our Apps, WiseQing automatically receives and records information from your browser or mobile device, such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address or unique device identifier. Cookies and data about which pages you visit on our Network allow us to operate and optimize the Products and Services we offer you. This information is stored in secure logs and collected automatically.

We may combine this browser information with other information we collect about you. This information is used to ensure the security of Products and Services, to analyze and understand how our Products and Services are used, to optimize such use, to provide advertisements on the Network and certain Products and Services, and to help connect with you to personalize your experience. With potential business opportunities if the Products and Services are recruited.

Location information

When you use WiseQing, we collect location information about you, including your IP address, location, browser information, and how you came to WiseQing. This applies to individuals registering for an account and non-members who visit our website(s) and interact with the WiseQing Network but have not completed an account registration.

This information is collected for a variety of purposes, including to provide advertising, analytics and content related to certain Products or Services, as well as to provide you with localized content, recommendations and marketing. You can revoke our consent to collect some of this data, including your location and browser information, through your Account Settings, but this may limit functionality in some cases. Certain location information we collect is necessary for security and site functionality. We share this information with certain third parties (for example, talent recruiters, payment processors, and advertising providers) to provide you with our Products and Services.

When using our Public Network, which is a public website, you must not include any financial or other information that you do not want publicly disclosed. We do not collect such information. It is your responsibility to keep such information safe and secure.

Can I revoke permissions when I put information on the Internet?

Please note that when using the Public Q&A Network, you cannot revoke WiseQing's permission to post and allow others to have derivative rights to such public content.

Content you contribute to the public network is permanently public, and WiseQing loses direct control over such content once it is posted on the open internet. It also means that if you post personal information about yourself, you do so at your own risk, including at the risk of waiving your privacy rights in such information. However, we may work with users to remove personal data that was sent in error or that a user wishes to remove.

Additionally, WiseQing makes such public content available from time to time by compiling it through Creative Commons Data Dump and providing public content to the WiseQing Network. You should be aware that once this type of content is public, it usually cannot be removed from public view, even if removed from the WiseQing network and our servers.

With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Data?

We share personal data with:

• Third parties we use to deliver our products and services to you, such as payment service providers, payment processors, warehouses and delivery companies; cloud service providers, eg. service providers who help us perform certain tasks, including order fulfillment, customer service providers, maintenance of technology and related infrastructure, serving and targeting advertisements, measuring performance, administering and analyzing research, and email distribution, administration.
• Additionally, to improve user experience, we provide single sign-on solutions for account login and these third parties (including Facebook and Google) may receive information from these services when you choose to use them.
• When WiseQing shares your personal information and other collected information with third-party service providers, we require that they use your information only for the purpose of providing services to us and in accordance with this privacy policy.
• Advertising partners – When you visit or interact with our websites, for example, when you use the Public Network, we and authorized third parties will, with your consent, place certain cookies on your device and account activity, as further described in our cookie. We use this information to serve you certain advertising content. We also partner with other third parties, such as Google Ads, to deliver ad content and manage ad campaigns. When we use Google Ads Customer Match for advertising campaigns, your personal data will be protected using hash codes.
  Google users can control the ads they see on Google services, including Customer Match ads, in their Google Ads Settings.

• Event sponsors and partners – We may share your personal data with sponsors of WiseQing events and partners with whom we organize events for marketing purposes when you give us permission.
• Other third parties approved by you, such as third parties conducting our Developer Survey, social media sites you have chosen to link your account to, or third-party payment providers.
• Authorities that require reporting of processing activities in certain circumstances, such as anti-money laundering, sanctions, and other regulatory obligations. We will not disclose your personal information to lawful authorities except where such disclosure is at a lawful request, including to satisfy legitimate national security or law enforcement requests (including subpoenas, court orders, or other legal requests from a legal authority with legal jurisdiction). or in the public interest in accordance with applicable law. In some cases, we may also release your personal information to defend our legitimate interests.
• If we choose to sell, transfer or merge parts of our business or assets, your personal data will be shared with such third parties as part of such a transaction. Alternatively, we may seek to acquire or merge with other businesses. If there is a change in our business, the new owners may use your personal data as set forth in this privacy statement.

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to process it lawfully. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes, and we only allow them to process your personal data for certain purposes and in accordance with contractual obligations that provide adequate protection for your personal data.

How Long Do We Keep Your Personal Data?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy statement and to fulfill our legal obligations. We will not hold more data than we need. As long as you remain a user or customer of the Internet, we will retain your data to continue providing services to you.

Due to applicable tax and other laws, we are required to retain certain basic information about our customers for a longer period of time. In some cases, you can ask us to delete your data.

Your choices - how you access and control your personal data

You can make choices regarding the collection and use of your data by WiseQing in the various ways outlined below.

You can change or correct your account settings and choose not to share certain information by creating a pseudonymous account. You can also remove some optional information that you no longer want publicly displayed, such as your photo or work history.

You can also control your personal data collected by WiseQing and exercise your data protection rights as specified in the section below or by using the tools described below. Please note that in some cases your ability to access or control your personal data will be limited under applicable law.

Promotional emails, SMS messages, phone calls and mails from WiseQing

When we send promotional emails and texts, we will give you an 'unsubscribe' option to opt out of receiving such messages. You can disable receiving phone calls. We may send promotional e-mails from time to time, if you do not want to receive e-mails, you can let us know by contacting us. You can also   disable it in your Profile Settings .

As described above under Advertising, we may run interest-based advertising through third-party services such as Google. You can disable such ads in the following ways:
