Meteorites coming from the Moon and Mars are thought to be particles scattered in space as a result of smaller asteroids such as asteroids or comet hitting the surface of the Moon and Mars. The ages of Mars-derived meteorites, which have been detected to date, vary between 4.5 billion and 160 million years. The changing age of such meteorites over a wide range is considered to be an indication that they are from a geologically active planet, because asteroids with smaller celestial bodies cool down rapidly after their formation. Another indication that a meteorite originates from Mars is the differences in its chemical composition. In addition, when the gas bubbles trapped inside the meteorites thought to be originated from Mars were examined, it was understood that their chemical composition and isotope ratios were similar to those found in the atmosphere of Mars.
