Can a piece of art still be viewed as a painting, if it has a role as a political instrument?

Many of us are now witnessing almost every region seeking to produce an art work that is used to launch, encourage, sell and illustrate the value of the city to a wide public. Especially without the aspects of creativity that exist inside it being left out.

Genre has, to my opinion, central position here. So an art piece, which is reused as a political weapon, can change purpose. Aesthetic enjoyment will no longer be the main goal; the goal is now persuasion. For example, a Van Gogh painting, used in a printer advertisement to show the high quality of its color prints, is no longer primarily a work of art but a vehicle for selling a printer. As a result, audiences will look at the same artwork in the commercial and in a catalog of Van Gogh portraits with different eyes.
