I think religions will be like a mythology in the future. Because when people cannot explain something, they impose it on a superhuman being. For example, to Greek Mythology:

Zeus (Sky and Weather Events)
Poseidon (Seas and Earthquakes)
Hades (Underground)
Hephaistos (Blacksmithing and Fire)
Ares (War)
There are Gods like Hermes (Theft, Healing, Journey, Communication), but then when people began to explain things like weather events, they were removed from these Gods and these religions became mythology. For me, as people get closer to science and explain things, they don't need God. But although many things have been explained, there will still be people who do not want to believe in some facts, but I think the number of these people will decrease gradually.

And to talk about the interests of the state, I think that people will wake up and see the truth as the level of education increases and the opportunity to get information from the internet, but I hope and think that people will eventually leave religion and believe in reality even if politicians and propaganda prevent this.
