How was space studies affected by the coronavirus epidemic?

When schools were closed in many countries, mothers and fathers had to quit or slow down the work to look after children. As the effects of the epidemic increased, people other than the teams that should have been at the top of the satellite, such as satellite testing and integration, started to work from home. Of course, this led to a decrease in business efficiency.

Satellite projects are mostly carried out in collaboration with many companies or institutions from many countries. In such projects, face-to-face meetings with broad participation are required from time to time. However, during the epidemic, these meetings were canceled or postponed. Therefore, delays and budget increases in many projects already seem inevitable. For example, the Kourou Launch Base in French Guiana is among the facilities that have stopped working. For this reason, Ariane 5 and Vega rockets cannot be launched. Similarly, the production of Soyuz-2 rockets was stopped.
