Fruits such as cherries, grapes, peaches, lemons are called “real fruits” because the succulent parts of these fruits develop from their ovaries. The flower of these fruits swells after pollination, forming the succulent part of the fruit. The seeds are in the center of this succulent part.

Edible succulent parts of fruits such as strawberries, apples and pomegranates consist of flower organs. These fruits are called "artificial fruit". For example, the succulent part of the strawberry that we eat consists of a flower tray that grows and develops with pollination. The flower tray is the transverse thick part at the end of the stem of the flower. The reproductive organs of the flower grow and develop on the flower tray.

Point-shaped structures on the strawberry are called "aken". Akenes are dried fruits formed by flowering plants. Many flowers contain nuclei inside the akens. The core of the strawberry is in the aken.
